I was born and raised in Sedalia, Missouri, and completed my college training with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Columbia.

My Work Experiences
I joined Procter & Gamble in 1977 as an intern and retired from P&G in January, 2007, as a Director of Research & Development, in the Pet Health & Nutrition business unit. During my time at P&G I was fortunate to have many diverse experiences and to build a broad set of capabilities, including:

-Experience managing complex business/innovation programs and organizations on a variety of brands--Iams, Crest, Dawn/Cascade, Always, Charmin, Bounty and Puffs. This helped me build strong collaboration and leadership skills.

-Managing and leveraging diversity--as I learned to successfully lead teams and individuals from many cultures around the world--from North and South America, Europe, Japan and China.

-Managing large expense and capital budgets.

My family
My wife, Gail, and I make a great team. We met at P&G in 1988, and shortly thereafter married and moved to Evendale. Gail also had a successful 30 year P&G career, and retired as an HR Director a few years ago.

I have three children, and three grandchildren. My twelve year daughter, Catherine, and my fifteen year old son Michael, are at Princeton Middle School and High School. Michael and Catherine both began their Princeton years in Evendale Elementary’s pre-K program.

Catherine is a 100% horse girl...down to every inch of her soul. She loves to ride her current favorite horse, “Rhodes Scholar”, several days a week and in horse shows. She is a top competitor in her age group in Hunter-Jumper competitions. She is an excellent student at the middle school, and plays flute in the middle school band.

Michael is a sophomore at the high school in the honors program. He plays trumpet in Princeton’s awesome Jazz Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. He currently plays on the JV and Varsity Water Polo team. His sports passion is baseball...where he pitched, played infield and outfield for the Freshman team last year. Between Princeton baseball and his summer select league he played over 75 games this year.

My oldest son, Christopher, is a successful professional (Prosthetics Practice) in Des Moines Iowa, where he and my wonderful daughter-in-law, Calli, are raising our three grandchildren, Zack (5), Megan (3), and Ella (six months).
